Students get involved in climate change workshops, rallies, and awareness campaigns to understand global environmental challenges and solutions. The Miyawaki Method, developed by Japanese botanist Dr. Akira Miyawaki, is a pioneering afforestation technique renowned for its efficiency in creating dense, biodiverse forests in a short span. Characterized by high-density planting of native tree species, this method aims to replicate natural forest conditions. In the context of a school, the implementation of the Miyawaki Method involves careful site selection, species diversity, and meticulous soil preparation. By densely planting native saplings in a well-prepared soil, DPS Ludhiana successfully employed this method to grow a small forest covering 100 square meters. The method's emphasis on native flora not only accelerates growth but also fosters ecological resilience. This initiative not only enhances the school's green infrastructure but also serves as an invaluable educational tool, engaging students in the hands-on experience of ecological restoration and sustainable environmental practices.

We practice zero-waste management by recycling biodegradable waste through vermicomposting. The nutrient-rich compost produced is used for our gardens, creating a closed-loop system. Awareness sessions on waste segregation and reduction are integral to our eco-club activities.

We have installed solar energy systems that power a considerable part of our campus. This is in line with our strong commitment to sustainability. This, in turn, motivates the students to think and act in this direction at their end.

Such initiatives inspire students to understand solar technology more and its role in reducing dependence on conventional energy sources through a living example that they experience every single day in person.
